TV ratings: ‘Family Guy,’ ‘Resurrection’ lead Sunday in key demo

Fox’s “Family Guy” and ABC’s “Resurrection” were Sunday night’s highest-rated network shows among key young adults, though it appears that golf-boosted CBS had the best ratings overall.

“Family Guy” scored a rating of 2.1 among key 18- to 49-year-old viewers, according to early numbers from Nielsen. Though Peter Griffin et al were down 9% from last week, the animated comedy was the top nonsports program on the major networks in the advertiser-coveted age group.

In 18-49, a ratings point equals roughly 1.3 million viewers.

“Resurrection,” ABC’s drama in which residents of Arcadia, Mo., are visited by dead relatives, earned a 2.0, down 9% week-to-week. The series has been getting a substantial lift from delayed viewing via DVRs and video on-demand.

Elsewhere on ABC, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” fell 14% to a 1.2, “Once Upon a Time” dropped 21% for a 1.9 and “Revenge” was flat at a 1.3.

Numbers for CBS’ prime time lineup, which was delayed by coverage of the Masters golf tournament, are unreliable. If ratings hold, the network drew a 1.7 in 18-49 on average and total viewership of 9.7 million for a nightly victory.

NBC’s “American Dream Builders” and “Believe” were flat week-to-week at a 0.7 and a 1.0, respectively, and “Crisis” ticked up 10% to a 1.1.
