Former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin will no longer be a paid contributor to Fox News Channel.

A Fox News spokeswoman confirmed a report in Politico that Palin’s contract with the cable news outlet expired on June 1 and has not been renewed. Palin will still appear as a guest on Fox News programs but will no longer be paid.

Palin’s last appearance on Fox News was on the June 8 edition of “Hannity.”

Palin, 51, was considered a hot TV commodity after she rose to prominence as Sen. John McCain’s running mate in his failed 2008 run for the White House. She signed on as a Fox News commentator in January 2010, a few months after her resignation from the Alaska governorship. She was reportedly paid $1 million a year but that payment was reduced over time.

Her on-air career is now limited to her reality series “Amazing America” on the Sportsman Channel and own subscription video channel distributed through TAPP.
