Dick Clark Productions is in advanced talks to hire ABC executive Mark Bracco for a senior creative role at the company, people with knowledge of the matter said.

Bracco, currently a vice president of alternative series and specials for ABC, is expected to become executive vice president of programming and development at Dick Clark Productions (DCP). He would report to Allen Shapiro and Mike Mahan, the chief executive and president of DCP, respectively.

In his role at ABC, Bracco has oversight over ABC’s roster of awards shows including the Oscars as well as DCP properties on the network including the American Music Awards and the long-running “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.”

Bracco’s expected move comes just a month after ABC struck renewal agreements with DCP for the “American Music Awards” and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.”

Other awards shows DCP produces include the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards. It also is launching a new movie awards program called the Hollywood Film Awards that CBS will broadcast as part of a long-term deal. DCP also produces “So You Think You Can Dance” for Fox.
