“Despicable Me 2,” Universal Pictures’ animated family mega-hit, was the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray title for the second week in a row, holding off new arrivals including “The Lone Ranger,” “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” and “Elysium.”

The “Despicable Me” sequel, featuring the voices of Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig, was the third-highest-grossing movie of 2013 with nearly $368 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada, only bested by Disney’s “Iron Man 3” and Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”

Universals’ “Fast & Furious 6,” the action film that stars Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, was the first runner-up for the second week in a row, followed by Disney’s “Lone Ranger.”

“Lone Ranger,” a Western reboot featuring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer, came in third place on the DVD sales chart in its first week in release. The critically panned action-adventure was one of the summer’s most high-profile flops. It cost more than $200 million to make, grossed about $261 million worldwide and resulted in a write-down for Disney.

Debuting at No. 4 was the young-adult fantasy book adaptation “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters,” followed by the social commentary-driven sci-fi thriller “Elysium,” which stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.

Also taking its first bow was the boy band documentary “One Direction: This Is Us,” launching at No. 6, behind the 3-week-old “Wolverine.”

“Elysium” was the top rental.
