With Season 5 of “The Real Housewives of New York City” approaching on June 4, viewers should be prepared for new faces and, inevitably, new drama.

Here is a glimpse at the three new ladies appearing on Bravo this season:

Aviva Drescher: Aviva Drescher is a little different from the other “Housewives” we’ve seen on the show. First of all, she is the only cast member to have been born and raised in New York City. Drescher is highly educated and philanthropically driven. At the age of 6, she suffered a traumatic farm accident that resulted in the amputation of her left leg. Drescher never allowed the incident to take away from her hopes and dreams. Although she has a law degree, Drescher is a stay-at-home mom of four children and spends a lot of her energies as the national spokeswoman for One Step Ahead, an organization for amputees.

Heather Thomson: The founder and creator of “Yummie by Heather Thomson,” this new “Housewife” has worked with some of the most famous names in the entertainment industry. Over her fifteen years as a designer and stylist, Thomson has worked with Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and was the founding Design Director for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ line Sean John. After having her 2 children, Thomson, unhappy with the fitness wear in stores, decided to make a line of her own. Over the years, Thomson has expanded her brand into denim and ready-to-wear.

Carole Radziwill: In 1988, Carole Radziwill’s life changed when she started her breakthrough internship at ABC News. Throughout her career Radziwill worked with Peter Jennings in the Peter Jenning’s documentary unit, “Primetime Live,” and “20/20.” Her award-winning career as a journalist opened many doors for her as she was stationed in Israel to cover the Gulf War and worked on the docu-series “Profiles from the Front Line” during the Afghanistan War. After leaving ABC in 2003, Radziwill became a best-selling author for her book, “What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love.” After its 12 week run on the New York Times Bestseller List, Radziwill’s next book, “The Widow’s Guide to Sex & Dating,” will be out this summer.
