Can’t let go of ‘Insecure’? Relive the final season with our insider’s guide
We were there at the beginning, riding alongside series co-creator Issa Rae through South L.A. We were there when things got rough (the pandemic) and when the long game paid off (Issa and Lawrence’s wildly romantic Season 4 reunion). We were there for its local culture and, of course, Kelli’s peerless wisdom.
But that makes saying goodbye to “Insecure,” which concludes its fifth and final season Sunday, all the harder. Rae and co-creator Larry Wilmore‘s hometown comedy understood the geography of Los Angeles like few series before it — a firm foundation on which to build a celebration of Black joy, a millennial coming-of-age tale, a winsome romantic comedy and one of recent television’s most remarkable portraits of friendship.
We figured you might not be any more ready than we are for “Insecure” to end. So as Issa (Rae), Molly (Yvonne Orji), Lawrence (Jay Ellis), Kelli (Natasha Rothwell), Tiffany (Amanda Seales) and the rest of your “Insecure” favorites prepare to take a final bow, we’re looking back on the series’ final season one last time with this round-up of our complete coverage.
