An Inland Empire high school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old female student, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Noah Padilla, 24, of Victorville, was taken into custody Wednesday on suspicion of having engaged in sexual misconduct with the student at Victor Valley High School in Victorville, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Padilla is no longer employed by the Victor Valley Union High School District, a spokesperson said Friday. The school district said it is cooperating with the investigation and offering support to all students and staff affected.

“The conduct alleged in this case is reprehensible and does not align with the values of the Victor Valley Union High School District,” Supt. Carl Coles said. “The safety and well-being of our students is our primary responsibility, and any breach of that trust is something we take extremely seriously.”
