Woman arrested in stabbing death of her mother at their Lake Forest home
A woman in her 70s was found stabbed to death in her Lake Forest home early Wednesday, and investigators arrested her daughter on suspicion of homicide, officials said.
Courtney Baker, 32, who also lives at the two-story home, was interviewed and booked into Orange County Jail, officials said.
Few details were released. Carrie Braun, a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said a man in his 70s called authorities from the home at 1:50 a.m. with a report of unknown trouble.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. Officials declined to identify the victim or the man who called deputies, who they said is not believed to have been involved in the incident.
Baker was being held in lieu of a $1-million bond, according to jail records.
Investigators have obtained a warrant to search the home, Braun said.
