Firefighters stop forward progress of Galster fire in West Covina
Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a brush fire by Galster Wilderness Park in the city of West Covina, authorities said.
Firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to a fire in the city of West Covina that officials said was moving toward homes.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was alerted to the fire at 2:25 pm, spokeswoman Leslie Lua said. Firefighters had responded to the 1500 block of Westridge Road by Galster Wilderness Park. It was 2 to 3 acres by about 4 p.m.
Firefighters stopped the fire’s forward progress about 5 p.m., L.A. County Fire Department spokesman Marvin Lim said. He said that no structures were lost and that the fire no longer poses a threat to homes.
