A brush fire that threatened homes after springing up in Calabasas on Wednesday morning was brought under control roughly 30 minutes after it broke out, fire officials said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department had initially warned residents of Calabasas and Hidden Hills near Las Virgenes Road and the 101 Freeway at Mureau Road to prepare to evacuate, but fire officials later announced that no evacuations were ordered.

The fire has been contained at roughly 10 acres as crews continue to extinguish hot spots. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant.
