Twitter app update makes sharing photos a snap

Twitter has updated its mobile app to make it quicker for users to tweet pictures and get a preview of what their tweet will look like before they send it out.

The social media company updated both its iPhone and Android apps Wednesday so that it takes fewer steps to tweet pictures. Twitter demonstrated how fast pictures can be shared with a demo on Vine, Twitter’s new app that lets users post videos of up to six seconds in length.

Besides speed, Twitter now also lets users see a larger thumbnail of the picture they are tweeting before they send it.

The new tweet compose screen also includes a user’s profile picture, name and handle, giving users a better idea of how their tweet will look like on the social network after they have sent it. This feature should also make it easier for users who have multiple accounts to make sure they are sending the tweet out of the correct account.

Android users also get an extra feature in their app update. Twitter notifications will now provide users with more information when they look in their Notification Drawer. If users swipe the notification to expand it, they’ll see more details, Twitter said.
