Starbucks rolls out Mobile Order & Pay at locations nationwide
You can now order and pay for that venti nonfat no-whip extra-hot caramel macchiato before stepping foot in Starbucks.
The coffee giant announced Tuesday that it is rolling out Mobile Order & Pay at its more than 7,400 company-owned Starbucks locations nationwide. Customers can access the feature in the Starbucks App on an iOS or Android device.
The program’s international expansion to select company-owned stores in Canada and Britain is coming in October.
“Following successful launches in select U.S. cities, mobile ordering is emerging as the fastest and easiest way for Starbucks customers to order ahead, then pay and pick up their purchases -- providing on-the-go customers a simple and quick alternative to get their favorite food or beverage item,” the Seattle company said.
The Mobile Order & Pay feature enables customers to choose a store from a map view, browse, select and customize beverage and food items, view the estimated timeframe the order will be ready, and pre-pay for the order. Menu options reflect products available in specific geographic regions and stores, and orders are ready for pick-up in the bar area.
