Google Now notifications begin rolling out to Chrome users

The Google Now notification feature has begun rolling out to all users of the Mountain View tech company’s Chrome Web browser.

The notification feature has been available to Android and iOS smartphone users for some time. Google Now is designed to provide users with information they may need before they search for it. This includes traffic, weather and news updates.

Google began testing Google Now for the beta version of the Chrome browser last month, but this week, it announced that all users of Chrome will soon be able to activate Google Now if they would like. The feature will roll out to all users over the next few weeks.

“The next time you’re finishing up emails at your desk, Google Now might suggest that you leave the office a bit early to beat the heavy traffic on the way to your dinner date,” Google said in a blog post.

To activate Google Now for the browser, users must sign into Chrome using the same account as the one they use for Google Now on their smartphones. Users who do not already use Google Now on their can sign up for it online.
