50 Cent talks about his SMS Audio headphones at CES
Rapper 50 Cent was back at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, once again touting SMS Audio, his headphones company.
Among all the headphones at SMS Audio’s exhibition booth at CES, 50 Cent pointed out the latest additions to his Street by 50 line. SMS has added six colors -- navy blue, monster green, metallic orange, metallic pink, metallic red, metallic teal -- to the line’s on-ear headphone option.
The new colors, which will sell for $179.95, will launch in mid-April, and 50 Cent said he hopes people pick them up as a way to express themselves the way they do with shoes.
“It’d be really cool if we get into that actual pocket where it’s trending and everybody wants to have that thing that creates their identity, and you know, to express their passion for music,” he told The Times.
Additionally, 50 Cent spoke about fellow musician Timbaland’s decision to invest in SMS Audio and become a partner. SMS Audio announced the investment this month, saying Timbaland will be joining the company’s board of directors.
“He’ll be helping with the professional acoustic engineers and the actual sound identity of SMS Audio,” 50 Cent said.
