Rumored 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro to sell for $1,699, report says
The rumored 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display could sell for $1,699, according to a report.
Apple is widely expected to announce Tuesday the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the higher-resolution display alongside the rumored 7.85-inch iPad mini tablet. 9 to 5 Mac is now reporting the MacBook Pro’s base price will be $1,699 while a higher-end version of the laptop will cost about $200 to $300 more.
Nine to 5 Mac is reporting the resolution of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina could be 2,560 by 1,600 pixels. By comparison, the current 13-inch MacBook Pro has a 1,280 by 800 pixel resolution.
The report also says the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina will have a similar launch to that of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina, which was announced this summer.
Orders for that computer kicked off and began shipping the same day it was announced, but the laptop was plagued by supply constraints, causing monthlong wait times for orders made online.
Besides the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina and the iPad mini, Apple is also expected to announce new versions of its Mac mini computer and the iMac desktop.
