WWDC 2013: Apple rolls out redesigned Mac Pro

Apple surprised the audience at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference by unveiling a redesigned version of its Mac Pro desktop.

The machine, which is built for Apple’s power users, had gone without any significant update over the last couple of years, but the company Monday unveiled a completely new version of the computer that is much smaller than its predecessor.

Apple introduced redesigned machine, which looks like a small black cylinder, using a sleek video. After the video ended, Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller stunned the crowd by saying, “Can’t innovate any more my ass,” a jab at Apple’s critics.

The new machine comes with a variety of improved internal specifications, and is set to launch later this year.

Apple also said that this line of the Mac Pro will be assembled in the U.S.
