Acer Liquid Glow, on Ice Cream Sandwich, announced
Acer’s Liquid Glow smartphone, announced Friday, is bringing Google’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and a bit of an odd name to market this summer.
The Liquid Glow smartphone will be detailed at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain, next week, but for now, Acer says that the new handset will bring a “balance between style, performance and affordability -- ideal for today’s fun-seeking, social-networking youth.”
With a pitch like that, it’s likely that the Liquid Glow will be a lower-cost, entry-level handset. If you’ve been growing tired of the massive screens many higher-end Android phones are sporting nowadays, the Liquid Glow might be worth looking into as it features a 3.7-inch touchscreen.
The Liquid Glow will be offered with “soft-touch casing” and in the colors “Sakura Pink, Alpine White, and Cat’s-eye Black.”
On the back, the Liquid Glow will pack a 5-megapixel rear camera with a single LED flash. Acer hasn’t offered up details on what processor, or how much RAM and storage, the new phone will feature, but that information is likely to come next week in Barcelona.
