Chromebook Pixel unboxing live [Video]
A day after Google announced its touchscreen laptop, the Chromebook Pixel, we have it in our hot little hands and will be unboxing it live at 11:45 a.m. PST.
The Chromebook Pixel is the first computer Google has developed on its own, representing the company’s first major foray into the PC market.
As Tech Now blogger Salvador Rodriguez wrote on Thursday, the Pixel sports a nearly 13-inch display with a 2,560-by-1,700-pixel resolution, and its 239-pixel density bests both of Apple’s Retina display MacBook Pro computers.
With 4 gigabytes of RAM, the Chromebook Pixel is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. In terms of storage, it has a seemingly paltry 32 GB of flash storage, but Pixel buyers get 1 TB of storage in the cloud for three years from Google.
The Chromebook Pixel, on sale now on Google Play, goes for $1,299 for the Wifi version and $1,449 for the LTE-capable version.
