Actress Zooey Deschanel, who bought a new home in Manhattan Beach earlier this year, has sold her old house in Hollywood Hills for $2.33 million -- about 6% over the asking price.

The single-story traditional, built in 1933, came on the market in April for $2.195 million and was pending sale in about 10 days. Deschanel bought the house from Oscar-nominated actor Mark Ruffalo in 2009 for $1.65 million.

Set on half an acre, the home features formal living and dining rooms, a den, a breakfast nook and two wood-burning fireplaces. The remodeled kitchen, awash in blue tile and cabinetry, has marble counter tops and a farmhouse sink, while the breakfast area looks out onto surrounding gardens.

In all, there are three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in about 3,000 square feet.

Outdoors, a brick patio, various gardens and large expanses of grass make up the tree-topped grounds. Separate guest quarters with another bedroom sits across from the main house.

Sara Berger of Westside Estate Agency was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Cari Field of ACME Real Estate represented the buyer.

Deschanel, 35, stars in the Fox comedy “New Girl,” now in its fifth season. She is set to appear opposite Bruce Willis in the comedy film “Rock the Kasbah,” due out later this year.

The actress in February made a move to L.A.’s South Bay, buying a Cape Cod-inspired traditional in Manhattan Beach for $4.569 million. Built last year, the house has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms in nearly 5,200 square feet.
