Tommy Lasorda gets top dollar for Orange County townhouse

Hall of Fame manager and Los Angeles Dodgers executive Tommy Lasorda has sold a townhouse in Placentia for $535,000 -- $17,000 over the asking price.

Lasorda, who has made his home in Fullerton for more than 50 years, bought the property in 1978 for $80,000, public records show.

The three-bedroom residence in a gated community was recently remodeled and features dark walnut floors, recessed LED lighting and an updated kitchen complete with quartz countertops and subway tile backsplash.

Open-plan interiors of more than 1,400 square feet include a living room with a stone-faced fireplace, a breakfast nook and a study/office. Three upgraded bathrooms sport marble-lined showers and custom vanities and mirrors.

Glass doors off the main floor open to a trellis-topped patio. There’s also an attached two-car garage.

Lasorda, 88, managed the Dodgers for two decades, winning two World Series titles (1981 and 1988) and National League Manager of the Year honors in 1983 and 1988. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.

He currently works as a special advisor to Dodgers controlling owner and Chairman Mark Walter.
