‘Empire’s’ Taraji P. Henson puts her Beachwood Canyon home up for lease
Finding no buyers at her asking price of $2.995 million, actress Taraji P. Henson of “Empire” fame has put her home in Hollywood Hills up for lease at $12,000 a month.
The three-story home, found in the Beachwood Canyon area, draws inspiration from Moorish style with scalloped stone trim and rows of front-facing balconies set within varying arches. Steps lead up to ornate double doors.
Built in 2009, the house includes formal living and dining rooms, a media room, an office and a center-island kitchen and wine cellar. A window above the kitchen sink takes in a built-in atrium/statuary.
The roughly 4,200 square feet of living space also includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms. A fifth bedroom had been used as a dressing room and salon.
An outdoor lounge area, a fire pit and a hot tub are among the exterior details. A pair of two-car garages sit off the front of the home.
The house previously changed hands six years ago for $1.695 million, records show. Henson had asked as much as $3.25 million for the home.
Vanessa Blair of John Aaroe Group holds the listing.
Henson, 45, won a Golden Globe for her role as Cookie Lyon on the Fox television series. Her film credits include Hustle & Flow” (2005), “Date Night” (2010) and “The Karate Kid” (2010).
She received an Oscar nomination for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” (2009).
