Writer-producer Rodney Rothman, who penned the scripts for “Grudge Match” and “22 Jump Street,” has listed his home in Venice for sale at $2.995 million.

Tucked behind a white-picket fence, the clipped-gable cottage has been updated and modernized while keeping its 1920s bones. The more than 2,100 square feet of interior was done by noted designer Barbara Bestor, according to the listing details.

At the heart of the home is a long center-island kitchen that adjoins the living and dining areas. Rows of skylights and wood sash double-hung windows bring natural light into the open-plan space.

A staircase leads from the master bedroom to a lofted office space that opens to a rooftop deck. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms in all.

Rothman received five Emmy nominations as a former head writer for “Late Show With David Letterman.” As a producer, his credits include the shows “Undeclared” and “Committed” and the film comedy “Get Him to the Greek” (2010).
