Chalk up a win in the real estate column for Rickie Fowler. The PGA golfer has sold his waterfront home in Jupiter, Fla., for the asking price of $2.85 million.

The two-story house in a gated enclave hit the market in September and was under contract in about a week, records show. Fowler, who reportedly bought another home in the area earlier this year, paid $1.6 million for the property in 2010.

With 123 feet of frontage on the Loxahatchee River, the home has 4,600 square feet of contemporary living space with formal living and dining rooms, a great room and a den. A modern chef’s kitchen has an oversized island and glass doors that open to the backyard.

The master suite sports an updated walk-in closet and a lavish bath for a total of four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Outdoors, the more than half-acre setting centers on a swimming pool and pool deck, along with lawns, tropical landscaping and a boat dock with two lifts.

Jeremy Browne of Hughes Realty Group is the listing agent. Victoria Witkowski Palm Beach Coastal Realty represented the buyer.

Fowler, 27, had eight top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour last season, including a second-place finish in February at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The Murrieta, Calif., native was part of the U.S. Ryder Cup team that won its first competition against Europe since the 2008 event.

He has earned more than $26 million on tour for his career.
