Seahawks coach Pete Carroll lists his Manhattan Beach home for $2 million
Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll has put a home in the Manhattan Beach area in play for about $2 million.
Found about a block from the Strand, just north of the Manhattan Beach Pier, the 1930s house features a brick-lined facade with an aqua-colored front door and matching shutters.
The 1,200 square feet of interiors has a living room with a rolled ceiling, a galley-style kitchen, a breakfast nook, two bedrooms and 1.75 bathrooms. Front-facing windows take in a peek-a-boo view of the ocean.
French doors off the master suite open to a stairway that leads down to a brick-lined patio. There’s also a separate laundry room, storage and a one-car garage.
Carroll, a longtime South Bay resident, bought the beach house in 1999 for $540,000. It was previously up for lease at $4,500 a month.
Jaime Lauren Davern of Manhattan Pacific Realty holds the listing. The exact list price is $1.999 million.
In June, based on 42 sales, the median price for combined single-family homes and condominiums in Manhattan Beach was $1,864,500, according to CoreLogic. At the same time a year ago, the median price was $2.4 million.
The 64-year-old Carroll coached the USC Trojans from 2001-2009, elevating the program to a national powerhouse during that period. He has coached the Seahawks since 2010, winning two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl in 2013.
Though he is more than six years removed from his last game at USC, Carroll still maintains a real estate presence in L.A. Records show he owns at least three homes in the South Bay plus a bungalow on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
Last year, he sold a lakefront home in Hunts Point, Wash., for $6.1 million in a deal completed off-market.
