Former NHL all-star Oleg Tverdovsky gets $7.81 million for Bel-Air home
Retired hockey player Oleg Tverdovsky, who began his career with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and also played for the Los Angeles Kings, has sold his home in Bel-Air for $7.81 million.
He bought the property six years ago for $5.4 million.
Sited behind gates on about two acres, the Mediterranean villa-style home offers sweeping views of the cityscape, the outlying mountains and the ocean.
Completed in 2008, the two-story house invites indoor-outdoor entertaining and has arched doors that open to various courtyards, verandas and terrace patios. Other details include beamed ceilings, stone and wood floors and period fixtures.
A gym, an office, a center-island kitchen, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms lie within 7,000 square feet. A formal living/dining room area features a two-sided freestanding fireplace that divides the space.
A swimming pool and spa, a tiled patio, an outdoor kitchen and landscaping fill the grounds. A large motor court sits off the entrance to the home.
Tverdovsky, 40, played 12 seasons in the NHL and was an all-star with the Phoenix Coyotes in 1996. The Ukrainian-born player twice won Stanley Cup title, first with the New Jersey Devils in 2004 and again in 2006 with the Carolina Hurricanes.
He retired in 2013 following two seasons with Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.
Elise Woroboff of Keller Williams Beverly Hills was the listing agent.
