Maverick Carter, the manager of LeBron James’ growing business empire, has followed in the footsteps of the NBA superstar, buying a home in the Los Angeles area.

Whereas James’ new off-season estate resides on the Westside, Carter paid $3.465 million for a renovated Hamptons-inspired compound in a popular celebrity section of Hollywood Hills.

Recently developed by American Coastal Properties, the two-story house sits behind a gated entrance on a corner lot with a motor court. Views take in the Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory and the San Fernando Valley.

Interiors done in neutral tones and wide-plank wood floors include a fireplace, a modern kitchen with a wide island/bar, a home theater and a custom wine closet. Four bedrooms and 4.75 bathrooms are within more than 4,400 square feet of open space.

Outdoors, a large deck overlooks a swimming pool and spa, a pool house and an outdoor shower. A separate studio/gym sits adjacent to the pool.

The house came to market in March for $3.85 million. A little over a year ago, it sold for $1.73 million, records show.

Isaac Fast of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage had the listing. Sally Forster Jones and Margaret Thomas represented Carter, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Carter is the chief executive of LRMR Marketing & Branding, a sports marketing company that he, James, Rich Paul and Randy Mims — all childhood friends — cofounded in 2010. The firm also represents NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel.
