Matt Bellamy of the alt-rock group Muse fame has doubled down in Malibu’s Point Dume, buying a second home in the area for $2.6 million.

The purchase comes about a year and a half after the English musician bought a nearby home from comic and radio personality Adam Carolla for $3.6 million.

Set behind gates and privacy hedges, the three-story contemporary was remodeled three years ago and features vaulted and beamed ceilings, rich hardwood floors and updated bathrooms. Glass sliding doors open to the grounds for indoor-outdoor living.

A media/living room, a formal dining room, an eat-in kitchen, six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms lie within approximately 3,700 square feet of interiors. The third-story master suite, with a wood-burning fireplace and his-and-hers closets, takes in ocean views.

Outdoors, there’s a large lawn, a patio and an outdoor shower. A one-bedroom guesthouse with a private yard and separate entry sits across the approximately half-acre grounds. A pair of attached garages sit off the entrance of the home.

The house came to market in May for $2.999 million and was more recently listed at $2.6 million, records show. It previously changed hands five years ago for $1.65 million.
