Tennis star John Isner serves up Florida home he bought from Derek Jeter
Tennis player John Isner has aced the sale of the home he bought from All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter.
He sold the Mediterranean-style estate in Tampa Bay for $1.15 million, down $200,000 from his original asking price. Records show he bought it from Jeter in 2011 for $900,000.
Located in a gated community, the one-story home is approached by a circular brick driveway. Isner, who stands at 6’10, was perhaps attracted to the high ceilings, which are found throughout the 4,500-square-foot floor plan.
Living spaces include a living room with built-ins, a formal dining room and a kitchen with granite countertops. Five bedrooms, five bathrooms and an office round out the interior.
Outside, a wet bar sits under a covered patio. Adjacent, there’s a rock-lined pool and spa.
Jeter, the home’s first owner, paid $675,000 for the property in 1997, a year after he won AL Rookie of the Year.
Caroline Duprot and Stacey Lee of Engel & Voelkers Tampa were the listing agents. Erica Lavina of Florida Executive Realty represented the buyer.
Isner, 33, is currently ranked ninth in the world by the Assn. of Tennis Professionals, making him the highest-ranked American player. Known primarily for his strong serve, he holds the record for the longest professional tennis match in history, a bout with Frenchman Nicolas Mahut that lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes.
