Joel McHale has at least one good reason to pop open a bottle of Pliny the Elder. The comedian and actor on Monday sold his home in Los Feliz for $2.55 million — $155,000 over the asking price.

McHale, who now lives in Studio City, had an offer in hand for the 1940s Traditional in seven days and closed the sale in about a month, records show. He bought the house nine years ago for $1.88 million.

Set up from the street on a cul-de-sac, the two-story has classic curb appeal. The front of the house sits behind hedges and gates and has a brick walkway that ends at the entry. Trim colored a gentleman’s gray offers visual contrast against a red-hued front door.

Inside, renovated interiors of nearly 3,500 square feet have a sophisticated look with dark wood floors, colorful hues and decorative ceiling and wallpaper treatments. Among living spaces are family and dining rooms, an office, a den, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Picture windows in the living room take in canyon views.

Outdoors, grounds of about a third of an acre center on a blue-tiled patio with an outdoor fireplace. An outdoor staircase leads through gates to nearby hiking trails.

Caroline Berkman Lewis of Partners Trust was the listing agent. Patricia Ruben of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.

McHale, 44, has television and film credits that include the sitcom “Community,” “Ted” (2012) and “A Merry Friggin’ Christmas.” He hosted the pop culture show “The Soup” from 2004-2015.
