Jay Z and Beyonce: Are these L.A. renters becoming buyers?

Jay Z and Beyonce can’t seem to keep out of the Los Angeles real estate news and they haven’t even bought yet.

The rapper/hip-hop magnate and his R&B superstar wife first splashed out $200,000 for a month’s stay this summer at a fully furnished contemporary in the Westside neighborhood commonly referred to as Holmby Hills.

The newly built 16,000-square-foot mansion has three levels, plus 6,500 square feet of patio/terrace space. Set on 1.3 acres that look out on mature trees and the surrounding hillside, the glass-walled house makes the most of indoor-outdoor living with a glass-walled living room that opens on two sides.

Other spaces include a formal dining room, two libraries/studies, a fitness center, a home theater, a catering kitchen and a wine cellar. There are seven bedrooms and 8½ bathrooms, all with bidets.

An infinity-edge swimming pool, fountains, lawns and a tennis court are among exterior amenities.

Since news of the monthlong stay broke on Realestalker, the property has been suspiciously absent from the Multiple Listing Service.

Scuttlebutt is that owner/developer Alessandro Cajrati Crivelli is considering a new team of real estate agents to market the place, and L.A.’s uber-agents are falling all over themselves for the chance.

More recently, the couple has toured a newly built mansion for sale in Beverly Hills at $85 million.

The sleek, nearly 23,000-square-foot contemporary is set on roughly an acre in the Trousdale Estates area. Features include a $200,000 candy bar/room, panoramic views of Los Angeles, an 18-seat theater, a 14-person spa with swimming jet and top-of-the line furnishings.

So far they’ve been to check out the mega-mansion three times.

Jay Z, 44, is a hip-hop artist, rapper and record producer. Beyonce, 33, came to fame as part of the girl-group Destiny’s Child and then turned to solo work.

Ben Bacal of Rodeo Realty and Branden Williams and Rayni Romito of Hilton & Hyland/Christie’s International Real Estate are the listing agents.
