Texas billionaire and Metro Networks founder David Saperstein has sold an equestrian estate in Simi Valley, an area found roughly 40 minutes northwest of Los Angeles, for $33 million.

Known as Hummingbird Nest Ranch, the sprawling 123-acre estate centers on a Spanish-style mansion of 17,000 square feet designed by architect Richard Robertson. A total of 16 guesthouses, three riding arenas and a 20,000-square-foot barn are among dozens of structures on the estate.

Three parking lots can accommodate as many as 400 vehicles. A swimming pool and spa, a helipad and a solar-panel farm are also within the grounds.

Because of its natural landscapes and proximity to Los Angeles, the ranch was used in recent years as a backdrop for special events as well as various film and television projects.

Among credits is the TV series “The Mentalist,” “NCIS” and “Little House on the Prairie.” Scenes from the 2015 film “Entourage” were also filmed on the property.

Saperstein, who had the 50,000-square-foot residence known as Fleur de Lys built in 2002, bought the property for his second wife, Suzanne, in the 1990s for an undisclosed sum. Following their divorce, the property came to market in 2007 for $75 million and was more recently listed for sale at $49.5 million.

Drew Mandile and Brooke Knapp of Sotheby’s International Realty were the listing agents. Paige Gordon of Keller Williams Realty repped the buyer.
