Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash sells his longtime Manhattan Beach home
Folk rocker Graham Nash of The Hollies and Crosby, Still & Nash fame has sold his longtime home in Manhattan Beach for $1.6 million. That’s more than three times what he paid for the property two decades ago: $500,000.
Tucked behind gates in the desirable Tree Section neighborhood, the remodeled two-story has a cabin-like quality with hardwood floors, gold-painted beamed ceilings and large double-hung windows throughout. A small office/nook features a door salvaged from a Red Car rail trolley.
Other living spaces include an updated kitchen with butcher-block islands and an office/nook. Two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms lie within 1,320 square feet of space. A deck with a Balinese-style daybed sits off the kitchen.
Across the grounds is a garage that Nash, an avid photographer and visual artist, converted into a photo studio. It was in that studio that he launched his digital printmaking service Nash Editions in 1991.
A guest apartment with a kitchenette sits above the garage. There’s also a finished basement with a wine cellar.
Dennis Komick of Vista Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Lizabeth Walker of Shorewood Realtors represented the buyer.
Nash, 74, has twice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Hollies and the supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash. He released his sixth solo studio album, “The Path Tonight,” earlier this year.
