San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey has made an off-field play in Southern California, buying a home in a gated Calabasas community for $2.7 million.

The Mediterranean-style house, built in 1993, sits on a cul-de-sac and has steps leading up to the front door. A four-car garage with carriage-style doors sits off the entrance.

Some 7,500 square feet of interiors feature a two-story foyer with limestone floors and a sweeping wrought iron staircase. A row of clerestory windows accentuates the curved design of the foyer.

Among the amenities is a modern kitchen decorated with a tiled backsplash, a family room with a wet bar and an office/den with walls of built-ins. There are three fireplaces across two floors.

An oversized master suite sports a sitting room and his and hers walk-in closets for a total of five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Sliding glass doors open to a long trellis-topped patio with an outdoor kitchen. Across the grounds, a swimming pool has a raised spa and a waterfall feature.

The property came to market last October for about $3 million and was more recently priced at slightly under $2.8 million, records show. It previously changed hands about a decade ago for $2.823 million.

Ben Salem of Rodeo Realty was the listing agent. Valerie Punwar of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices represented the buyer.

Dorsey, 30, appeared in 10 games for the 49ers last season, making seven starts. The defensive tackle out of Lousiana State was originally taken 5th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

He is entering the final year of a two-year, $6.1-million extension he signed in 2014.
