Ed Norton lists rustic pad on Malibu’s Las Flores Beach for $5.25 million
Edward Norton is flipping the script in Malibu.
The actor of “American History X” and “Fight Club” fame has listed his Malibu home of about a decade for sale at $5.25 million. The listing comes about six months after Norton paid $11.8 million for a John Lautner-designed home in a different Malibu community.
The house he’s selling is a two-story cottage found in the Las Flores Beach area. The cozy oceanfront retreat has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining area and two full kitchens. A wet bar and a Midcentury-vibe fireplace bookend the living room, which is finished in rustic wood siding.
Expansive decking creates additional living space outside. A tiki-hut-style bar, a spa and sandy sundeck look out to 43 feet of beach frontage.
Norton bought the property through a corporate entity in 2008 for $2.72 million, records show. In January, the median sale price for single-family homes in Malibu, based on 27 sales, was $2.85 million, according to CoreLogic.
The 48-year-old has received Oscar nominations for his performances in “Primal Fear” (1996), “American History X” (1998) and “Birdman” (2015). He has a voice role in the Wes Anderson stop-motion animated film “Isle of Dogs,” due out next month.
Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage holds the listing.
