Tennis great Chris Evert lists her Boca Raton, Fla., mansion for $6 million
Former top-ranked women’s tennis player Chris Evert has served up her home in Boca Raton, Fla., listing the sprawling estate for sale at $5.995 million.
Found behind gates in the Horseshoe Acres community, the hacienda-style home spans more than five acres with a putting green and a tennis court. Two guest houses, a nine-plus-car garage, a swimming pool and a gym also lie within the property, which is surrounded by palm trees.
The single-story main house, built in 1995, includes large formal rooms, a center-island kitchen, a den/office, and family and media rooms. Sitting beneath vaulted and beamed ceilings, the master bedroom sports a separate office/sitting area and a skylight-topped soaking tub. In all, there are eight bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms in nearly 12,300 square feet of living space.
Outdoors, open-air galleries lined in Saltillo tile wrap the exterior of the home and overlook the swimming pool. A large motor court sits off the front entry.
The property last changed hands in 2003 for $2.8 million, public records show.
Rebecca Spooner of Siemens Group Realty holds the listing.
Evert, 61, won nearly 200 singles and doubles titles over the course of her career, including 18 Grand Slam Tournaments. She was elected into the International Hall of Fame in 1995.
She operates a tennis academy in the Boca Raton area and works as a commentator for ESPN.
