Charlie Sheen comes up short in sale of Sherman Oaks home
Actor Charlie Sheen has sold a home in Sherman Oaks for $6.6 million in an off-market transaction, public records show. He bought the house from filmmaker Mike Medavoy four years ago for about $7 million.
Set on about half an acre in guard-gated Mulholland Estates, the two-story Mediterranean was built in 1998 and has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms in more than 9,000 square feet of living space.
The house opens to a two-story entry with a sweeping wrought iron staircase. A formal living room with a fireplace, a dining room, a library/den and a center-island kitchen are among common areas.
A fireplace and private balcony highlight the second-floor master suite.
Rows of French doors connect indoor-outdoor living spaces including a heated veranda. A swimming pool with a raised spa, a built-in barbecue, formal landscaping and an expanse of grass complete the grounds.

Sheen, 50, publicly acknowledged last month that he has been HIV-positive for four years. He said he decided to reveal his condition in order to end a spate of extortion threats from members of his inner circle.
The son of Martin Sheen, he starred in the television sitcoms “Anger Management,” “Two and a Half Men” and “Spin City.” “Major League” (1989) and “Money Talks” (1997) are among his film credits.
He owns other property in the Los Angeles area, including homes in Beverly Hills and Malibu.
