WNBA star Candace Parker looks to court a buyer for Encino estate
Candace Parker, decorated star of the L.A. Sparks, and her husband, pro basketball player Sheldon Williams, have listed their home in Encino for sale at $4.49 million.
The couple, who are estranged, bought the estate on 1.38 acres four years ago for $3.56 million, records show.
Set on a cul-de-sac, the gated property centers on a Spanish-inspired home with canyon, city and mountain views. The grounds include an outdoor kitchen, a swimming pool with spa and a lighted sports court. A separate pool house holds a sauna and an additional bathroom.
Within more than 7,000 square feet of interior space are a two-story entry, living, dining and family rooms, a home theater, seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The master suite features one of four fireplaces, a large walk-in closet and sliding doors, which open to a balcony.
Anthony Marguleas of Amalfi Estates holds the listing.
Parker, 31, won her first WNBA championship last year as a member of the Sparks. The forward-center has twice been named the league’s most valuable player. Earlier this year she was competing in the Turkish League championships with Fenerbahce.
Williams, 33, played six seasons in the NBA for the Hawks and Kings, among others. More recently he suited up for Tianjin Ronggang of Chinese Basketball Assn.
