Former NFL player Asante Samuel sells his Florida home with $1-million swimming pool
Former NFL defensive back Asante Samuel has sold his South Florida mansion -- with its $1-million swimming pool -- for $7.5 million.
The resort-like 140,000-gallon pool features waterfalls, a geyser and a beach-style entry. Flat-screen televisions, a hot tub, a fire pit, tropical landscaping and a pavilion complete the party setting.
The 18,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style home, set with a motorcourt amid expanses of lawn, is entered through an enormous foyer with a dual staircase. Elaborate molding, archways and marble floors are used throughout the house.
A home theater, a playroom, a game room, a music studio, a gym, a sauna, a hair salon, nine bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms are among the living spaces.
Samuel, 34, played for the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. He won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Patriots (2004, 2005) and twice led the league in interceptions (2006, 2009).
This year he started his own record label, Eighties Nation Records.
The two-time Super Bowl winner purchased the nearly five-acre property in Southwest Ranches, Fla., in 2008 for $2.375 million, records show. The current home and pool were built in 2013.
Ben Moss of One Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent.
