Mother’s ‘baby’ portraits of 13-year-old son go viral on Facebook
Birth announcements tend to contain some of the most cliche images around: sleeping babies swaddled in soft blankets, propped up in flowerpots, kissed gently atop their foreheads. In other words, we’ve seen it all, and usually it’s not very good.
Or have we?
A series of “baby” portraits taken by Kelli Higgins of her adopted son Latrell, 13, has gone viral since the professional photographer posted the images on Facebook.
In one image, a shirtless Latrell is wrapped in a white blanket with his eyes closed. In another, he faces the camera with his chin cupped between his hands. And there’s, of course, the classic feet-only shot.

“Here’s my sweet not so little Newborn! His name is Latrell and weighs 112lbs ;),” Higgins said in a caption accompanying the photos.
Higgins said the idea for the photo shoot came because Latrell was adopted as an older child two years ago and didn’t have any baby photos of himself.
“I was very sad too because I didn’t have any photos of him either,” the Crestview, Fla., mom told Today.com. “I think it’s really hard to have children and not know what they looked like when they were younger.”
