Tumblr testing real-time notifications for likes and reblogs
Despite being around for nearly six years, Tumblr is only now testing a real-time notifications feature.
The social network announced the test on its blog this week, saying the feature will alert users whenever they get a like or a reblog from somebody they follow.
“You should start to see them in the next few hours (and can toggle them on your settings page),” the company said.

Along with the short announcement, the company put up a GIF file showing how the feature looks in action. The feature is similar to the ones that come up on the bottom left corner of Facebook’s website when you receive a notification on that social network.
Tumblr has become increasingly popular among young adults and teens in the last few years.
