IPad mini rumor mill: production has started in Brazil
Now that the iPhone 5 honeymoon is over, it’s time for the iPad mini to take center stage, and the latest rumors say Apple has already begun production on the unconfirmed device.
Japanese site Macotakara reported Monday that a Brazilian plant has begun production on Apple’s rumored 7.85-inch tablet, according to “reliable sources.”
Typically, Apple products are produced in China, but Macotakara said its source could not confirm whether production had begun there.
iPad mini: Rumor round-up
The Macotakara report comes the same day as Fortune magazine cited a big Apple investor saying that the company will send out media invites next Wednesday to an iPad mini event.
The iPad mini is expected to have a slightly bigger screen than those of its competitors, the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD and the Nexus 7. It’s also expected to resemble the iPhone more than the iPad, with bezel frame on top and bottom but not on all four sides.
