Samuel L. Jackson tweets the London Olympic Games

Samuel L. Jackson has been live tweeting the Olympics, and no matter how awesome you think that sounds, it’s even better than you could imagine.

Jackson kicked off his not always family friendly Olympic twitter coverage Friday night with his own brand of enthusiasm, and patriotic bravado: “K! Getting that MOLYMPIC#### Fevah! GO TEAM USA!!!!!”

Later that day he wrote, “I’m hearing Malaysia might be bringing Badminton noise!”

Jackson, 63, is an equal opportunity Olympic sport watcher. He’s into all of it -- or at least almost all of it -- and he’s not afraid to be honest.

Over the last five days he has tweeted about swimming, handball, boxing, ping pong, gymnastics, synchronized diving and water polo, which he seems to especially like.

“Hey y’all, more Water Polo dopeness!US vs Hungary, HOTTNESS in a shoot out!!” he tweeted Monday.

He also wondered whether the U.S. field hockey team had a shot at gold.

He wasn’t thrilled with the boxing, tweeting: “Tried to watch Boxing, BORING! Might need to change to UFC/MMA style to draw interest!”

And he worried that the white water kayaking would put him to sleep: “Bout to shut it down. Looks like Romania ain’t what it used to be...in gymnastics.prolly gon fall asleep to that White Water Kayaking!”

Although many of his tweets end with some variation of “GO USA!” that doesn’t mean he won’t shout out a competitor from a different country: “BIG UPS to the UK Gymnasts! Legendary performance!” he tweeted Monday night.

Jackson has 1.138 million followers on Twitter. Before the Olympics he was an occasional tweeter, tweeting about four or five times a week, but during the Olympics he has amped up his tweet frequency to about 20 tweets a day.

The best part of reading Jackson’s tweets on the Olympics is his contagious excitement, which reflects the best of what the Games are supposed to be about -- rooting for your home team, getting caught up in the athletes’ personal dramas, and suddenly finding yourself deeply invested in sports that most of the time you forgot existed.

Go @SamuelLJackson and Go USA!!!
