Donald Trump will publish a new book in October. Will it be huuuge?
Donald Trump’s second-favorite author, Donald Trump, will release a new book next month. And it’s probably going to be huge.
Threshold Editions, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, will publish the Republican presidential frontrunner’s latest book on Oct. 27. The book is as yet unnamed, but if his previous efforts (“Trump: The Art of the Deal,” “Trump: The Art of the Comeback,” “Trump: The Best Golf Advice I Ever Received”) are any indication, the title will probably include the word “Trump.”
In a news release, Trump predicted his new book will do well. “I am excited to announce that work on my new bestseller is almost done and I’ll have a new book out from Threshold Editions and Simon & Schuster later this year,” he said. “Not since ‘The Art of the Deal’ have I had this much fun writing a book.”
“The Art of the Deal,” published in 1987, is Trump’s first book, and probably his best known. At a campaign event in Michigan last month, the real estate mogul declared it his second-favorite book of all time, after the Bible.

Simon & Schuster says the new book “will outline how a crippled America could be restored to greatness,” and will cover The Donald’s opinions on issues including “the economy, big CEO salaries and taxes, healthcare, education, national security, and social issues.”
According to the news release, “Of particular interest will be his vision for complete immigration reform, beginning with securing the borders and putting American workers first.”
Trump has famously advocated for the construction of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. In a June campaign speech, he lashed out at Mexican immigrants, saying, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best.... They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Trump’s comments about Mexicans were widely criticized. Last week, a coalition of Latino musicians that includes Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Shakira, Thalia, Wisin, and Pepe Aguilar announced they’ll be recording “We’re All Mexican,” a new song celebrating Latino accomplishments. “Trump doesn’t represent anything to me,” producer Emilio Estefan told Billboard. “Everyone has their opinion, and he can have whatever opinion he wants, as long as he doesn’t humiliate my people.”
Trump has written more than 15 books, including “Trump: How to Get Rich” and “Think Big and Kick Ass in Business and Life.” Washington Post book critic Carlos Lozada binge-read eight of Trump’s books this year, “hoping to develop a unified theory of the man, or at least find a method in the Trumpness. Instead, I found . . . well, is there a single word that combines revulsion, amusement, respect and confusion?”
Threshold Editions, which will publish Trump’s new book, is a conservative imprint of Simon & Schuster. Its editor in chief is Republican political consultant Mary Matalin, and it has published books by Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove.
