Yamel Sanchez
Executive Director
Us Too Gymnastics Originally from Mexico City,
Yamel Sanchez moved to the U.S. during middle school. After graduating from San Diego State University with an international business degree, she built a career in accounting, progressing from a clerk to an accounting manager across diverse industries. However, her life took a new direction when her daughter was diagnosed with autism. Quitting her job, she joined Us Too Gymnastics, a haven for autistic children. Seeing its potential, Sanchez became the executive director, steering the gym through financial crises, securing grants, and purchasing equipment. Her leadership was recognized when the gym won the 2022 USC Marshall’s Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab Grant. Her deep understanding of the challenges faced by families with special needs children has made her not just a director but a compassionate advocate. Through Us Too, Sanchez found a supportive community for her own family and aims to extend the same to others seeking help.
