In 1994, Margaret Bayston moved to Southern California from the U.K. With a background in legal advocacy and a passion for helping worthy causes and organizations, she joined the Orange County District Attorney and Victim Witness Office as a volunteer helping prepare witnesses to give testimony in domestic violence cases. During this time, she was introduced to Laura’s House, a nonprofit organization that provides unduplicated domestic violence-related services to residents of Orange County and beyond. For 25 years now, Bayston has served as CEO and executive director at Laura’s House, helping to establish and lead innovative and successful prevention and education programs for adults, teens, and families. Over the past 15 years alone, the agency has grown from a budget of $2,436,714 serving 3,697 direct service clients to a budget of $5,547,821 now serving 5,883 direct service clients.
