Kelly Bruno-Nelson brings boundless energy and inspiring ideas to her lifelong professional passion for serving vulnerable populations, including people experiencing homelessness, low-income individuals and families, and frail seniors. She has held a series of leadership roles at organizations that enable her to make a difference and build a wide network of contacts and collaborators ready to help her serve the underserved.

Currently, Bruno-Nelson is executive director of Medi-Cal/CalAIM at CalOptima Health, a community- based health plan serving nearly one million low-income residents in Orange County. In May 2022, she joined CalOptima Health to launch the agency’s California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) program -- a groundbreaking statewide initiative to transform California’s Medi-Cal program and integrate it more seamlessly with services that directly address the social determinants of health.
