Ohlendorf keeps Marlins in check
Associated Press
PITTSBURGH — Ross Ohlendorf gave up two hits over seven innings during Pittsburgh’s third shutout in four games, Nate McLouth drove in four runs and the Pirates ended Florida’s winning streak at seven games with an 8-0 victory Monday night.
The Marlins began the game with a major league-best 11-1 record and were coming off three consecutive come-from-behind victories in their final at-bat in Washington.
With four shutouts, the Pirates already have twice as many as they did last season, when their 5.10 earned-run average was the National League’s worst.
