Late-night campaign stops: Little did we know what Bill Clinton’s 1992 appearance on “The Arsenio Hall Show” (remember that one?) hath wrought. Over the last 18 months or so, we certainly enjoyed following the election and the many issues it raised, but we’re grateful some of our favorite shows are dropping off the satirical stump speech circuit. We now return you to your regularly scheduled escape from reality.

The Seth Rogen slacker empire: We’re fans of “Knocked Up” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” and even bigger geeks for the Apatow factory’s “Freaks and Geeks.” But now that Rogen has teamed with Kevin Smith for what amounts to a slacker summit with “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” we’re drawing a line. Time to move on, Seth. We’re not looking to you for “Hamlet,” but we know you’ve got the chops to change things up.

UNDERRATED

European scare tactics: Between last year’s “The Orphanage” and this year’s young vampire love story “Let the Right One In,” it sure seems as if the EU has been -- for want of a better term -- killing it lately with some truly fantastic fright films. We’re not saying that our local horror-minded filmmakers are falling behind, but surely there were better candidates for a Halloween release than the umpteenth “Saw” film.

Vintage music videos: We’ve never been fortunate enough to catch the VH1 Classic network, but lately we’ve been gripped by music nostalgia since MTV moved its archives online with mtvmusic.com. Though the site is by no means comprehensive, we enjoy seeing the videos of yore without wading through low-quality YouTube transfers. If anyone needs us, we’ll be annoying our office mates with an Adam & the Ants marathon.
