True intentions are murky
Re “McCain far from predictable on foreign policy,” March 16
It is concerning to hear an advisor to John McCain say McCain will not be as robust in military matters as his current campaign speeches indicate.
Although I don’t favor any of the presidential candidates because of their policies of amnesty for illegal immigrants, what really concerns me is that they say one thing while fully intending to do another.
We have had enough of this type of chicanery with George W. Bush.
Clearly it is not only McCain who seems to have a hidden agenda or policy. It was said that Barack Obama’s representatives assured Canada that Obama would not be as strident on the North American Free Trade Agreement as his speeches suggested. If candidates will not tell the truth, what are we to believe? And can a press dominated by big business be trusted to find out and print their real views?

The Times has started bashing McCain with a weasel-worded article in the one area where he is far and away better prepared than the two Democratic candidates. Bet we won’t see a front-page article with a headline that reads, “Total lack of foreign policy experience haunts (Clinton or Obama).”
