Ex-assemblyman drops out of race
Former Assemblyman Jerome Horton has dropped out of the crowded race for a key state Senate seat, saying he wants to focus on his local government consulting business and his children. Horton’s decision leaves Democratic candidates, including Assemblyman Mervyn Dymally (D-Compton) and former Assemblyman Roderick Wright among those competing in the June primary election for the seat being vacated by Sen. Edward Vincent (D-Inglewood), who is prevented by term limits from seeking reelection.
